Day 1

Today is day one of my project. This idea originate from Becky Higgins, an amazing talented scrapbooker. She suggested that you take one picture each day for a year and also write a 2-3 sentence journal with it. Then, stick this in a scrapbook, each set of pages representing 1 week, and do it for 365 to document your life. I will do this while I am home in Omaha, but for now, I am putting it on my blog.

Inauguration of President Barack Obama. This day is an amazing pivotal moment in our history. As I watched in the UC Commonwealth today with my friends, thoughts raced through my mind. The one that was most inspirational was thinking about my Grandpa. He graduated from West Point, Class of 1950 and has seen some much change in our country over his years of service to our country. He has lived through the Civil Rights movement, the Cold War, and times of peace and prosperity. We live in a country that constantly challenges norms so individuals of different nationalities, beliefs, religion, and lifestyles can live in harmony and enjoy our freedom. Our country has transformed for the past 58 years and I have the utmost faith that our new president will continue to lead our great nation.
